Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas from Me to You

Hello Beautiful.

I know I am not the best at blogging, I am the first to admit it. But whether you blog about beauty, fashion, technology, or whatever happens to float your boat, your blog is your place to speak up, say what's on your mind.

And I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone nothing but the happiest of holidays, no matter what you celebrate. Often times we get so immersed in the stresses of the world, that we forget to just take a moment and enjoy our family and the little things in life.

I'm notorious for being a bit of a Scrooge (I get holiday over load by mid November). But I made a promise to myself this year that I would be more open minded, so I made a wreath, turned up a Christmas song or two, and wouldn't you know it, I've enjoyed this holiday with my family more that I have in the past.

So just a friendly reminder from me to you, to take a moment and breathe in the smell of Christmas trees (unless yours is fake like mine...) and remember that you only live once.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas.

I'm glad you're here :)

GlossyBox October 2012

Hello Beauties!

It's GlossyBox time! I usually do a monthly video for this subscription service, so make sure you are subscribed to my Youtube beauty channel to stay in the know!

But since I'm not feeling to hot, it's blog post this time around! The blog is in need of some loving anyways!

I love that GlossybBx features a beautifully done GlossyBox Mag every month. It's so nicely done, informative and easy to read with so many great little articles!

The packaging always gets me. It's so chic and feminine.

What's inside!? Always so many goodies!

And look at how pretty it all is in there!

OK so down to the nitty gritty...this is what came in my box this month.

1. Alterna Bamboo Luminious Shine Mist: I'm so excited to try this product! I am a sucker for an easy spray and go hair product and I have only heard great things about this line. Plus it smells pretty good!

2. Carol's Daughter Shea Souffle: Easily my favorite thing in this box. I got turned onto the Carol's Daughter Monoi Hair Mask awhile back and have been wanting to try more products from this line. PLUS I have been looking for a great night time moisturizer and I think his might do the trick! I immediately put it on my skin and even now, 2 hours later, my skin feels amazing! And the smell is absolute heaven!

3: Heartland Fragrances Exfoliating Loofah Soap: Pretty excited to try this. I usually use body scrubs but the idea of having it built into my soap already is intriguing. And it has the greatest mint smell!

4: Modelco LIP DUO Lipstick and Ultra Shine Lip Gloss: Full size product, gotta love it! I love the idea of this. A great neatural lipstick with a beautiful and delightfully smelly lipgloss! (Like cake batter!) The lipgloss doesn't seem sticky and the lipstick glided on with ease. I'm definitley excited to try this.

5: Nastissja Skin Enzyme Facial Peel: I'm a sucker for any sort of mask or peel and this is right up my alley. Consistency is like a sticky jelly almost and almost smells like cleaner? But in an oddly good way. Definitley using this very soon!

Here are quick swatches of the Modelco Lipstick and Lip Gloss. As you can see the lipgloss is a pretty light pink color and is going to just add more of a sheen to your lips than a color pay off. And I love the lipstick color! Very natural and easy to wear year round.

Here's a quick shot of the Carol's Daughter Shea Souffle. As you can see it's thick and yummy! It's advertised for dry to very dry skin and even though I have combo skin you better believe I am using this baby! Just use it sparingly, alot goes A LONG WAY!

If you are interested in knowing more about GlossyBox, check out their link below! Definitley the best subscription service I have used. Always amazing producs and every little detail is thought out! As a consumer and beauty lover, I definitley appreciate that.

Thank you for taking the time out to read this! Make sure you subscribe and leave me any comments or questions. I love seeing everything you have to say! :)

Until next time!

Julep 1 Year Anniversary Maven Box!

Julep
is celebrating their
One Year Anniversary!

I just subscribed for the Julep Maven monthly subscription service and I guess I have good timing! My second box was the awesome First Anniversary Celebration box!

I have a little bit of a soft spot for Julep because they are based out of Seattle and well...I am a born and raised Seattle-lite. So to see them so successful after only a year is pretty awesome.

They included a really cute tote that has officially become my lunch bag with of course, 2 polishes that I have already worn to death (even though they aren't necessarily "in season" right this second!)

"Felicity": Yellow Gold Metallic Chrome. If you have been in the market for a true GOLD nail polish...get this! I'm really not a gold fan but I was overly impressed with how pigmented and well...gold this was. Beautiful!

"Alfre": Smokey Royal Purple Metallic. When I first pulled this out of my box I was thought, "OK cliche...gold and silver." But then I realized it wasn't silver at all, it was more of this smokey hazey purple metallic that I couldn't stop staring at! This is going to be the PERFECT polish for fall and winter.

Julep Acetone Free Nail Polish Remover: Should a girl really get this excited over NAIL POLISH REMOVER?! Probably not... but first of all, this comes in a pump form which I LOVE! How many times have I accidently tipped over my open nail polish remover and my house smells like it for hours!? To many to count. Plus this is acetone free and smells GOOD! Insane I know... and it took off my polish in literally seconds. And didn't leave my skin feeling dry afterwards.

When I first subscribed to the Maven service I was a little hesitant because it's a little more spendy for subscription service but so far, money well spent! I can't wait to see what next month has in store!

Things I'm Loving Right Now (July 2012)

You know when you go through phases of literal addiction to certain thing? Ya...me too...

I either can't stop reaching for these products OR they always put a smile on my face while I race around my office like a chicken with her head cut off.

1. My Nail Polish Rack
I have been wanting one of these forever and I finally ordered one off of Amazon and it's perfect!
It makes it so much easier to paint my nails now because I can literally grab and go! And I'm using colors I wouldnt' usually reach for because I couldn't see them! So I'm getting more use out of my collection. Video to come soon
:)

2. My Favorite Coffee Mug
I picked up this little beauty at Marshall's for $3.99 when Ben and I moved into our new apartment last fall and every time I drink my coffee out of it (like I am right this moment), it just makes me smile.
"Well hello to you too!"

3. Josie Maran Argan Oil
Ya ya ya we've all heard about it so when it was available as a sample at Sephora I snatched one up. And now I'm wondering why it took me so long to pick this up! I use it for EVERYTHING from Ben's new tattoo to my daily night time moisturizer to my hair. This little bottle is lasting me forever and the second it's gone I'm running to get the full size.

4. Glint and Gleam (Shoplately.com)
So a serious addiction has occured in the past 2 weeks. I'll try to refrain from blasting this blog with my love of shoplately.com but needless to say, I can't stop buying! And most of the things I have purchased are from the awesome seller Glint and Gleam. My purchases are slowly trickling in and needless to say I am so impressed with the way they package their pieces. And the prices literally amaze me every time I go on.
Video to come soon as well!!!!

5. Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation
I did whatever everyone does when I new product comes out with this. I rolled my eyes, said "What a hype, I don't need it..." and then proceeded to get in my car, drive to Target and go buy it...And I love it. I am planning on doing a review on this soon so again, I'll refrain. But I love it's semi matte finish, the texture is great, and the staying power is impressive. Thanks Revlon!

6. My Blue Contacts
Yes my contacts are some of my newest favorites. (I apparently am not opposed to putting my finger in my eye). I have had these contacts before and I love being able to switch up my eye color. The only downside? It makes me look even MORE like my mom! ;) I will most likely be wearing them in a video soon but for now I will post a VERY old picture from when I had them before... "Well Hello 20 year old Nikki!"

That's what I am loving lately! What are you loving?! I would love to know :)

Until next time make sure you make yourself a friend at my YouTube channel...

My First Julep Maven Box!

So I have heard a ton of about Julep as a brand as well as their Maven Box program. It's another monthly subscription service but instead of samples you get 2 full size Julep polishes and another product that Julep thinks would be good for you based on what your profile says.

Find more here:

So I got lucky and found a coupon to get my first box for a penny. Yes! A PENNY!!! (Always check out retailmenot.com before shopping online!) Typically the boxes are $20 a month plus shipping which is still a good deal considering one full size Julep polish is about $14.00 or so.

So after taking my style test, I got matched up with a box I didn't necessarily prefer (the colors just weren't me) and the nice part is, I had the ability to change which box I got. So I chose Classic with a Twist which came with 2 gorgeous polishes and what Julep literally calls "The Best Pedi Creme Ever"... we'll see.

The redish pink color I got is called "Rose" and it's an awesome color to wear year round. The blue one is appropriately called "Robin" and it's the most stunning robins egg blue! Right up my alley! I can't wait to wear this!

I have one other Julep nail polish and I have to say, the formulation on these polishes is AMAZING! You could swing it with just one coat if you needed to and I didn't see any chips after a week.

So needless to say, I'm excited to see next month's box! I'll keep you updated on what I think as time goes on :)

Until next time beauty lovers!

Influenster Spring Vox Box!

My very first Influenster Vox Box came in the mail awhile back (I am way behind the curve on getting this done...someone might have gotten into a *small* fight with her internet provider...)

Beside the point...

I am so excited about this program! If you don't know about Influenster and you are active in the social media community, go check out their website. Such a great idea and a fantastic community of people!

My Spring Vox Box came with 7 things, all of which I am SO excited to try! And all but one, are completely new products to me which is always a nice plus!

1. Sally Hansen Salon Effect Nail Polish Strips in Laced Up.
I put these on right after I finished filming the video for the Vox Box (you can find that at www.youtube.com/MissZBeauty0412) and I have to say, I loved them! The pattern was so fun and sexy, more of a fall pattern in my opinion but really wearable whenever. And I got so many compliments on them! Lasted a good long while with my typing away at my key board.

2. Bath and Body Works Twilight Woods Fine Fragrance Mist
You know those products you always stop and smell and touch in stores but never buy, and you really don't know why? That was Twilight Woods for me. Everyone and their mother loves the scent and I would smell it in Bath and Body Works and like it just fine, but never followed through with making it mine. So I was so happy to see it in my box! Amazing scent, good lasting power, nice big bottle. Smells sooooo yummy!

3. Sheer Cover Duo Concealer in Medium
Again, I have heard so much about this product, especially in the last few months so to see it in my box was so exciting! I believe it's full size, and the consistency is nice from what I have seen so far, along with the coverage. The one down side? You can only get this product in a kit with 5 other products.

4. Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Wash
I have had alot of prior experience with Aveeno because my little brother has bad Eczema and Aveeno has been our saving grace. This is personally my first time using this product and so far so good. (Can you tell I'm trying really hard not to launch into full reviews here?)

5. Chapstick Lip Shield 365
Oh hello heaven in a tube! I swear this stuff is the answer to my husband's prayers. He's a personal trainer so between sweating, talking, swimming in chlorine, biting his lip, and just generally not taking care of his lips, they were DYING for some easy and effective care. And this has done it! I love that it's got SPF, is water resistant and doesn't have a smell really.

6. SoyJoy Blueberry Bar
Food is food, and to me it's hard to give an opinion on it because everyone's taste buds are different but considering it's SOY and I'm by no means a health fantatic, I was impressed. I also loved that it's baked in California, and that it's gluten free for people with allergies.

7. Dr Scholl's For Her Ball of the Foot Cushions
I may be a little bit of a high heel insole fanatic. Every pair I own has a an insole of some sort in it so to see these bad boys, or should I say ladies, and I instantly squeezed them to see how soft they were and I'm happy! Fit nice in my shoes and my toes were singin a little song...

So that's the contents of my Vox Box... I'm going to be posting small little reviews on each individual product through out the next few weeks so keep an eye out for that, and they might also be mentioned on my Youtube channel so make sure you follow me there :) www.youtube.com/MissZBeauty0412

Review: Frownies (And new fresh blog!)

I feel like I should be breaking a champagne bottle against a metaphorical ship...the new blog is officially here! If you have joined me from my last blog, thank you for following me here. If you are a new reader, thank you for taking the time!

Now, onto the good stuff. I posted a video the other day on a review for a company called Frownies.

They sent me some products to try out and after a good long while of trying them out, I let you guys know my thoughts and I promised in the video that I would write a corresponding blog post/review.

So here we go!

 I was sent 4 products.
*Frownies Under Eye and Eyelid Gels.
*Frownies Rose Water Hydrator Spray
*Frownies Immune Shield
*Frownies Forehead and Between Eyes Patches

I have to say, the Eye Gels were my favorite product. I am kind of an eye patch junkie and if I can find any product that will allow my eyes to rest and depuff after a long work week, I'm sold!

Frownies says:
"Frownies Under Eye & Eyelid Gels are all natural gel patches of cactus collagen, aloe and other natural vitamins derived from plant sources that serve to increase circulation, and deliver deep hydration and nutrient support to the under eye and eyelid area."

You're supposed to use these for 30 minutes at a time. When you first put them on they feel VERY slick and wet but once they tack onto your skin they don't budge. The cooling effect instantly depuffs your eye area and are not irritable in the least.

When you are done using them you can put them back in their tray and spray with the Rose Water Hydrator Spray, pop them in the fridge and use them for about 4 uses. I have used my particular set probably about 5 times and they are about to be retired but I really love these. I love that they don't have a smell, depuff my tired eyes and baby the sensitive skin around my eyes. I would definitley repurchase these!

6 Patches: $37.50

I am kind of confused on how I feel about the Rose Water Hydrator Spray. It has excellent benefits and many different uses, but being someone who has ALWAYS hated the smell of roses, I really can't jive with this product. Not that it's a bad product, it's just a bad smell!

Frownies Says:
"Rose Water Hydrator Spray is used to keep the eye gels moist and bacteria free or as a refreshing pick up throughout the day, especially during air travel...contains many of the same ingredients as the gel patches..."

So I have already stated that I hate the smell so I wouldnt' spray it on my face as a pick me up, but if I DIDN'T hate the smell, I would. So it's kind of a double edged sword...you seem to need this product if you want the gel patches. I can deal with it, I would just prefer if they had a unscented version.

59 ml spray bottle: $10.95
The Facial Patches I feel are kind of the core of the whole company. I think these are an absolutely awesome idea, especially for people with more mature skin that they want to treat for more youthfulness without any type of crazy surgical junk...

Frownies Says:
"Frownies Forehead and Between Eyes Patches are used on the expression lines occuring in the muscles between the eyes and between the eyebrows."

It took me awhile to get used to these products... you have to spray down the tacky side of them with the Rose Water Hydrator Spray and then kind of spread any over used muscles on your face and apply the patch there. For me it was mostly between my eyebrows where I get my "angry face line".

They get a little stiff and kind of uncomfortable but once they are there, they are definitley manageable. I would highly suggest wearing them over night so you don't have to worry about them. Otherwise you have to wear them for at least 3 hours.

Now I by no means think I need to treat wrinkles...I am only 23 after all. So as good of an idea as I think these are, they are completely unnecessary for me. I did see a small difference in my furrow lines but I don't think I have enough lines to see a dramatic difference. But if you, or someone you know has more mature skin, you would probably love these!

One of the down sides to these is they hurt just a smidge when you peel them off. (Think a pore strip...)

144 Forehead and Between Eyes Patches: $19.95

The Immune Shield is another product I am intrigued by...

Frownies Says:
"Frownies Immune Shield is 40% whole vitamin E with all the polypeptides and 17 amino acids to build skin health and resistance to UV damage."

This little roller packs a serious punch. No matter where you live, I think it's nice to have a product that can really protect that delicate skin around your eyes, especially from UV damage. You can use this around your eyes (which is suggested before make up as a protective layer), on your skin (suggested for use after the patches) and on your lips (again, as a protective layer).

It's very thin and smells like nothing, which is kind of nice. There really is no moisturizing effect to it. I put it on my lips and it immediately just dried right into my skin. So don't expect to use it for any moisture. I did roll it on my skin after I used the patches though, and on my skin itself it did allow for a small amount of moisturization and calming.

I'm right down the middle on this product. I definitley see the upsides to this product, but I think that I already have products I love more that do the same thing in my collection.

60ml: $59.00

You can see more about how I feel about all of these products in my youtube review.

So all in all, Frownies seems to be a great company and there are great benefits to all of their products. I absolutely love the eye patches and I am curious to try some of the other products they have. If you are interested in seeing more, I will link their website below.

I would love to see you over on my YouTube channel and around my Twitter! :)

Until next time!
