Review: Frownies (And new fresh blog!)

I feel like I should be breaking a champagne bottle against a metaphorical ship...the new blog is officially here! If you have joined me from my last blog, thank you for following me here. If you are a new reader, thank you for taking the time!

Now, onto the good stuff. I posted a video the other day on a review for a company called Frownies.

They sent me some products to try out and after a good long while of trying them out, I let you guys know my thoughts and I promised in the video that I would write a corresponding blog post/review.

So here we go!

 I was sent 4 products.
*Frownies Under Eye and Eyelid Gels.
*Frownies Rose Water Hydrator Spray
*Frownies Immune Shield
*Frownies Forehead and Between Eyes Patches

I have to say, the Eye Gels were my favorite product. I am kind of an eye patch junkie and if I can find any product that will allow my eyes to rest and depuff after a long work week, I'm sold!

Frownies says:
"Frownies Under Eye & Eyelid Gels are all natural gel patches of cactus collagen, aloe and other natural vitamins derived from plant sources that serve to increase circulation, and deliver deep hydration and nutrient support to the under eye and eyelid area."

You're supposed to use these for 30 minutes at a time. When you first put them on they feel VERY slick and wet but once they tack onto your skin they don't budge. The cooling effect instantly depuffs your eye area and are not irritable in the least.

When you are done using them you can put them back in their tray and spray with the Rose Water Hydrator Spray, pop them in the fridge and use them for about 4 uses. I have used my particular set probably about 5 times and they are about to be retired but I really love these. I love that they don't have a smell, depuff my tired eyes and baby the sensitive skin around my eyes. I would definitley repurchase these!

6 Patches: $37.50

I am kind of confused on how I feel about the Rose Water Hydrator Spray. It has excellent benefits and many different uses, but being someone who has ALWAYS hated the smell of roses, I really can't jive with this product. Not that it's a bad product, it's just a bad smell!

Frownies Says:
"Rose Water Hydrator Spray is used to keep the eye gels moist and bacteria free or as a refreshing pick up throughout the day, especially during air travel...contains many of the same ingredients as the gel patches..."

So I have already stated that I hate the smell so I wouldnt' spray it on my face as a pick me up, but if I DIDN'T hate the smell, I would. So it's kind of a double edged sword...you seem to need this product if you want the gel patches. I can deal with it, I would just prefer if they had a unscented version.

59 ml spray bottle: $10.95
The Facial Patches I feel are kind of the core of the whole company. I think these are an absolutely awesome idea, especially for people with more mature skin that they want to treat for more youthfulness without any type of crazy surgical junk...

Frownies Says:
"Frownies Forehead and Between Eyes Patches are used on the expression lines occuring in the muscles between the eyes and between the eyebrows."

It took me awhile to get used to these products... you have to spray down the tacky side of them with the Rose Water Hydrator Spray and then kind of spread any over used muscles on your face and apply the patch there. For me it was mostly between my eyebrows where I get my "angry face line".

They get a little stiff and kind of uncomfortable but once they are there, they are definitley manageable. I would highly suggest wearing them over night so you don't have to worry about them. Otherwise you have to wear them for at least 3 hours.

Now I by no means think I need to treat wrinkles...I am only 23 after all. So as good of an idea as I think these are, they are completely unnecessary for me. I did see a small difference in my furrow lines but I don't think I have enough lines to see a dramatic difference. But if you, or someone you know has more mature skin, you would probably love these!

One of the down sides to these is they hurt just a smidge when you peel them off. (Think a pore strip...)

144 Forehead and Between Eyes Patches: $19.95

The Immune Shield is another product I am intrigued by...

Frownies Says:
"Frownies Immune Shield is 40% whole vitamin E with all the polypeptides and 17 amino acids to build skin health and resistance to UV damage."

This little roller packs a serious punch. No matter where you live, I think it's nice to have a product that can really protect that delicate skin around your eyes, especially from UV damage. You can use this around your eyes (which is suggested before make up as a protective layer), on your skin (suggested for use after the patches) and on your lips (again, as a protective layer).

It's very thin and smells like nothing, which is kind of nice. There really is no moisturizing effect to it. I put it on my lips and it immediately just dried right into my skin. So don't expect to use it for any moisture. I did roll it on my skin after I used the patches though, and on my skin itself it did allow for a small amount of moisturization and calming.

I'm right down the middle on this product. I definitley see the upsides to this product, but I think that I already have products I love more that do the same thing in my collection.

60ml: $59.00

You can see more about how I feel about all of these products in my youtube review.

So all in all, Frownies seems to be a great company and there are great benefits to all of their products. I absolutely love the eye patches and I am curious to try some of the other products they have. If you are interested in seeing more, I will link their website below.

I would love to see you over on my YouTube channel and around my Twitter! :)

Until next time!
